A secure space for teachers at Beasley Elementary to communicate, share ideas, and find resources to enable them to be the best teachers everyday. Greetings! Welcome to BeasleyConnect! This site has been created so that Beasley staff has the opportunity to collaborate and improve technology use and integration on our campus. In order for Beasley to continue working towards the the vision in the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, it is important for staff members to become more comfortable and familiar with communicating through online communities. The Long-Range Plan for Technology includes a vision for technology improvement and integration in four areas: Teaching and Learning, Educator Preparation and Development, Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support, and Infrastructure for Technology. The Texas Teacher and Campus STaR Charts were developed for a way to teachers to assess their own technology use, and for campuses to become more aware of the technology use that is occuring. According to the Texas STaR Chart from 2008-2009, we can still integrate technology more...why not start within the wonderful faculty of Beasley?

The link above is an analysis I did on the STaR Chart for Beasley. It reveals that Beasley is making progress towards integrating technology into the classroom every year; however, there is still room to improve. What are some things we can do to increase the technology use on our campus? Please respond to the data from the STaR Chart and also provide your thoughts on technology improvement and integration on our wonderful campus by Monday, December 14th. Thank you!!
After viewing the slide show on the STaR Chart, and also thinking about the technology use on our campus, I have concluded that Beasley is definitely on the right track with the Long-Range Plan for Technology. Every year, Mesquite administrators are providing more and more staff developments specifically for technology, and they are making sure every school has the most up to date technology. We now have on our campus three classroom sets of Mac Laptop computers, as well as Promethean Boards, Voters, Elmos, etc. We have many available tools, I just feel that as teachers we should utilize these wonderful tools more!---What do you think?
